Customer Reviews about Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital

  • Huge Shout out to Greg and the Meadowbrook team!!! I have been a social worker in the field doing placements for 20 years. I need to say that this has been one of the easiest facilities to work with. Their communication and dedication to helping others is awe inspiring. They fought tooth and nail to make this placement happen knowing that he would not be a big money maker for their facility. It was clear from the beginning that they truly has the pt and families best interests in the forefront. If I get the opportunity to refer to their facility again, I know that it will be a great experience.

My son Matt was transferred there after experiencing a traumatic brain injury and spent two months in NKC hospital and, the staff at Meadowbrook treated him terrible like an infant and, he's 26 years old and, they didn't even try to realize how serious his brain injury was they just kept him in a diaper and treated him badly and we're mostly very rude to us meaning his family when we came up too visit him and called to check in on him as well. They, has him in a dirty room which they barely cleaned up and had him shower not often and, scolded him every time he acted up too the point where we asked for him too finally be discharged from there because he didn't like it there and don't be fooled by the picture's on there website or on brochure because it's very deceiving and, most of the time was very unclean and, I just wouldn't recommend that rehabilitation center for traumatic brain injurinjuries too anyone because they're suppose too specialize in that field and, the most of the nurses, doctor's, and, staff don't do there expertise that they say that they are qualified for.

The only redeeming quality about this place is the few therapists, a few cnas and 1,2 nurses who are actually good-hearted and do their jobs and treat the patient like a human being. The rest are grumpy, rude, hurtful people who have no manners, morals and disrespect, treat visitors and patients like scum. I was outside and overheard these two staff who came outside to talk crap with f words left and right. Then proceed to call me a creep and talked to me like i was a criminal because i was outside walking my dog. Then they giggled and laughed in whispers once i told them i was here to visit a family member but sleep in my car at night in the parking lot because home is hours away. This is not an uncommon incident, many times staff make rude remarks about visitors/patients not to their face but to their co workers but try to act like they're nice people. Higher up staff are also rude, especially the administrator John Scott, total biggot and arrogant and just a total a hole, but he'll be nice to your face too and if your family is around. Basically this place, you get some good staff, and the rest if they think you don't matter or not someone important, they will treat you like dirt. Meadowbrook lost more than half the clothes i packed for my husband and took the things i brought for him. When we try to get those things back, they tell us we're not allowed to go look for the lost clothes in the basement laundry because 'guests aren't allowed down there', but no staff is willing to go look for us either. The second week, i came visit my husband his bed smelled like pee and when i asked someone to change the sheets, they look mad like i was in the wrong for asking for new sheets. I'm not a particularly picky person but Meadowbrook staff had me extremely disappointed than i have ever been in any health care facility and i have been to many hospitals and over 50 times at least. No hospital is perfect and while i do not expect perfection, Meadowbrook's rudeness is outrageous, especially for people who works in a supposedly caring field. The mannerisms are so bad I dread coming to Meadowbrook every minute of the drive i have to make, wondering how i will be treated and what will they be rude to me for this time. If it wasn't for my husband, i would never have come back to this place again. Just be warned, pretty pictures they posted on their websites are the nicest portion of the facility they have. 300 and 400 halls living setting look like nursing homes, depressing. Your loved one is not going to some grand hotel where they're gonna be treated like kings and queens, best you can hope for is they recover fast (and this varies for individuals) so they can leave. I do not believe Meadowbrook is as good as people say it is. And do not be fooled and expect this place to 'fix up' your loved one. They will improve most likely over time but people who credit Meadowbrook for all the healing and progress are naive. All patients need time and their recovery depend on themselves more than anyone else.
